Plantain is effective in reducing weight, especially when combined with reducing diet. It limits caloric intake, has appetite-satiating effect that makes you feel full, and reduces intestinal absorption of lipid fats. Plaintain taken before meals also causes a decrease in trglyceride fats and bad cholesterol, with an increase in good cholesterol. It provides some protection against type 11 diabetes and atherosclerosis. Plantain must be taken with water.
